“The scent is the most important thing, it has the power to conjure up memories, set a mood in a room and help people to relax”

Laura Francis began making candles when she realised she always ended up at the scented candles section whilst shopping. Her candles are made from natural soy wax and blends of essential oils. This not only ensures they are natural but also when combined with the correct wick and scent, improves the burn of the candle.

Laura’s Signature Candles include gorgeous scents such as Lavender & Bergamot, Rosemary & Eucalyptus, and Green Tea & Spearmint. She also creates Bespoke Wedding Candles - whether you're looking for beautifully scented candles for decoration, a unique idea for Wedding favours for your guests, or a special gift for your Bridesmaids or members of the Wedding party, By Laura candles are a fantastic addition to any Wedding day.

Laura also holds Workshops at her Walton-on-Thames home. During these, Laura takes you through each stage of the candle making process. You will have the chance to smell and test a beautiful selection of fragrances and essential oils. Then with tips and advice from Laura you will create your unique blends to scent two candles for you to take home. By Laura workshops include tea/coffee and cake (or Prosecco for evening workshops). Check out when the latest workshops are in the Events section.

By Laura candles are premium through the great quality ingredients used, the scent throw created, their long burn time, and complimented with an affordable price tag. The burn time of Laura’s signature candles is approximately 50 hours. To best look after your candle she recommends that you burn it for at least an hour and a half on the first burn, and cut the wick down to around 5mm before lighting.

I just wanted to say a huge Thank you for making the candle scent and Wedding Candle favours. It was so lovely for the guests to walk into the Wedding Breakfast room with it being filled full of our ‘Miami scents’, taking us right back to the holiday where we first met. Perfect!
